The Mercedes GLC63S AMG intake system is the result of extensive research and development, designed to achieve three key objectives: increased airflow, low intake temperatures, and smooth airflow dynamics.
To achieve the first objective, the system was engineered to maximize the use of the limited space in the GLC63S engine bay, resulting in a 39% higher flow rate compared to the stock intake. For the second objective, a fully sealed design was implemented to protect against the high temperatures generated in the engine bay, particularly from heat sources like the nearby turbochargers. This ensures cooler, denser air reaches the engine for optimal performance.
The final objective was accomplished by creating an organically shaped system with custom-rounded panel filters, eliminating sharp corners and maintaining laminar airflow. The smooth transitions from the filters to the turbo inlets minimize turbulence, allowing the turbos to operate more efficiently and effectively.
By meeting all three objectives, the intake system enhances the turbochargers' ability to generate boost, resulting in improved throttle response and tangible power gains that become even more pronounced with higher states of tune. The system delivers a comprehensive performance upgrade for the GLC63S, combining efficiency, power, and reliability.
